A Moz alternative built around approval and stored evidence
Moz-style tools are known for keyword research, link metrics, and site crawls. Rankateer does not reproduce those scores. It prepares a change and waits.
A different workflow, not a claim to be better than any other tool.
A proprietary domain score is not what this product stores
Moz publishes its own link metrics, including an authority score it calculates, alongside keyword research and a site crawl. People use those numbers to compare domains quickly. Rankateer does not calculate a Domain Authority-style score, and it will not show you one under another name. A single number that ranks domains is a different product decision from a log of what was observed.
What Rankateer keeps, when a check has been run, is the observation itself. A Google position is the position recorded on that date. An AI answer is the text returned, with the model and the timestamp. A citation is a link that was in that answer. If the check did not run, there is no substitute score to hide the gap. That is a narrower record than a research suite, and it is meant to be read that way.
On-page advice in a research tool is something you interpret. In Rankateer the comparable object is a draft of fields the connector can write. You see the current title or description and the proposed replacement. The draft is not a grade of the page, and it is not a promise that the new sentence will outrank the old one.
The draft waits, including when the suggestion looks finished
Ranger can prepare the next change from findings already stored for the connected site. Preparation is not publishing. The screen you approve from shows the writable fields. You can leave the draft, ask for a different pass, or approve that exact text. Until you approve, the live page stays as it is.
After approval, the connector writes the fields you accepted. A follow-up read of the live URL checks those fields against the approved values. Match means the page shows the text you signed off. It does not mean visits increased, and it does not mean an AI answer started naming the business. Those are separate measurements, and only if they were actually run.
Local listing work is narrower still. Google Business Profile actions run only when that profile is connected. Rankateer does not claim to manage every directory Moz's local products have covered, and it does not invent a listing score. If the profile is not connected, the product should say the local action is unavailable rather than imply it happened.
Where a metric helps, and where a draft helps
A domain metric is handy when you are sorting a long list of sites you might email or study. Rankateer will not speed that sorting up, because it does not keep the metric. Use it when the decision in front of you is about your own URL: which sentence is on the page, whether you are willing to publish a replacement, and what a later check recorded.
A practical week looks like this. Read the draft. Approve only the fields you agree with. Let the connector write them. Later, look at stored positions and stored AI answers, and ignore any cell that says it was not measured. That sequence is the whole alternative. It is a different workflow, not a claim to be better at keyword research or link metrics.
The SEO rank tracker page describes position checks. AI visibility tracking describes answer text and citations. The free AI visibility checker is the no-account check that a live URL can be read. It is not a mention score and it is not a share of voice. Plans stay on the pricing page. This guide does not change them.
The same honesty standard is on the Ahrefs alternative, automated SEO software, SEO tools for a small business, and the Semrush alternative. Read the one that matches the question you were asked. They are not interchangeable pages with the name swapped.
Scores, drafts, and checks
| Job people bring | What Rankateer stores | What it refuses to invent |
|---|---|---|
| A domain authority number | Nothing. Rankateer does not calculate one | A renamed score that implies the same thing |
| A keyword list for the open web | Not a research export | Volumes or difficulty figures this page does not have |
| An on-page grade | A draft of writable fields, if a change is proposed | A letter grade that claims the page will rank |
| Publishing the suggestion | Only after a person approves | A silent update while you are away |
| Google positions | Observed positions with dates, when checked | Movement that was not measured |
| Local listings | Google Business Profile actions only when connected | A listing score, or edits to directories that are not connected |
Rankateer does not guarantee rankings or inclusion in AI answers, and reports “not measured” rather than filling a gap with an estimate.
Questions, answered honestly
Does Rankateer show Domain Authority or a similar score?
No. Rankateer does not calculate a proprietary domain score, and it does not present one under another name. Observations are stored as the check that produced them.
Is Rankateer a replacement for Moz?
No. Moz-style products are research and metric tools. Rankateer is an approval and measurement loop for a site you connect. It is a different workflow, not a claim to be better.
Will Ranger publish an on-page suggestion on its own?
No. The suggestion stays a draft until you approve the writable fields. The connector then writes those fields, and a live read checks that they match.
How do I try a check or see what an account costs?
Use the free AI visibility checker on a public URL with no account. Read the pricing page for plans. This guide does not set either of those.

If you want a domain score, this is the wrong product. If you want a draft you approve and a stored check afterwards, start with the free checker or an account.
